Welcome to Robins Class!
Robins Class teachers are Mrs Cousins and Mrs Broadbent and our teaching assistants are Mrs Gent, Mrs Bell and Mrs Worton.
We enjoy learning both indoors and outdoors every day and try our best to get outside in all weathers!
Our topics this year are:
All about me
It's Party Time
Hot and Cold
Once Upon a Time
We're going on a journey
We try to make our topics as enjoyable as possible and invite visitors into school for hands on learning experiences and we enjoy going out on visits to local places such as All Saints Church and we travel to places such as White Post Farm and East Midlands Airport.
A typical day in the Foundation Stage Unit involves lots of time to explore our different areas of learning both indoors and out. We have time to choose our own activities and staff support us and help us to develop our skills and knowledge further. We also take part in small group adult led activities based on our next steps in learning. We have a phonics or writing focus, a maths and topic focus activity every day.
Each day we have a morning snack which is a free piece of fruit. All children under 5 years old also receive free milk. Once a child turns 5 Years old parents can pay for this. In the afternoon session we also have another snack. This snack is charged at 20p per day and we have snacks such as cheesy crackers, yoghurts or toast.
Every Thursday we take part in a Yoga Bugs session with an external provider. Abbie teaches us lots of new yoga movements linked to stories and we have a great time!
Every Friday afternoon we have P.E, during the winter months this is in the School hall and we do dance. As the weather improves in spring we go outdoors on a Wednesday with our School P.E Coach, Miss Wilson and learn new skills and games.
Friday is our favourite day of the week as each Friday we have Golden Time! This is a special time where we can choose an activity which we would like to do such as using the parachute or having a mini disco. This activity is a reward for good behaviour throughout the week and for remembering the school rules.
We hope you have enjoyed looking at our page!
